Best Friends

Good morning! WOW, did it get cold here last night!! This morning it was -20*C without the windchill, that's just nasty. Our patio doors were frozen shut and in trying to pry them open for the dogs to go out, the noise scared the little pup and he won't go near them now. I have to carry him! I was going through Ashleigh's camera and found these photo's (I took the one of her and Buddy) and wanted to share. How's this for best friends?? Our house is a happy, but busy household these days and Buddy has fit right in. It's so fun to watch Riley teach him things (good AND bad habits, lol) and to see the kid's both out and all 4 playing together. These are memories in the making.
Have a great day and stay warm, or cool, wherever you may be.

CTMH "Showcase" Thursday's - Simply Snapshot Pages!

Hello!! Welcome to "Showcase Thursday's" where I'll showcase something from Close To My Heart each Thursday!! This week I'd like to showcase the "Simply Snapshots" 9x9 album pages. I LOVE these pages! You'd be amazed at how quickly you can get an album done and how easy these pages are to use. Each page is all ready for you to just add your photo and some embellishments and you're done!!

These are some pg's from a family album I'm working on and the one of a 2 pg LO is from my daughter's album that I'm doing for her. I've showcased a few different ways to make your pages. The first 2 have no embellishments added yet, so you can see the simplicity of the pages. The 3rd and 4th page have embellishments added and some journalling, so you can see how it comes together and the last is my daughter's fall layout, one of my fav's, and this one is complete. Nice, simple and EASY to do!

Enjoy!

In Appreciation and Thank You

I've been asked to provide some samples for a company in Barrie and they're looking for something simple yet business like and something to signify Barrie's waterfront, so I went with sailboats and water colors, to send out in appreciation of referrals. I've had a bummed shoulder for over 3 weeks now, so haven't been crafting as much as I'd like, just trying to make sure I have my DT stuff done and some I had done over the holidays, thank goodness, so I was ahead. I finally went to the Dr and turns out I had some sort of a pinched nerve or something in my neck which was causing all the pain. I've been on anti-inflammatories for a week and it's finally calming down and I can drive safely (could barely turn my head) and start crafting again without the pain!! So, this is what I've come up with so far and inside one I added photo corners to hold a gift card. I'll let you know how it goes!

Trouble In Blogging World

Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing trouble when you try to upload images? I'm ok to post, but when I upload, it lets me click what I want to upload and then freezes up and I have to reset the whole page. It's likely my pc, but thought I would see if I'm the only one!

Thanks!

Cricut "Dreams Come True" Project

My niece's 4th birthday is this Saturday and she decided she wanted a princess party, since she's quite the little princess!! She LOVES to dress up and last week my parents stopped by and then came by here and mom had to show me a picture of Maddie dressed as Snow White. So cute! So, my sister asked me if I could come up with a tiara idea that she could use for a craft and then the kid's could wear them. I went through my "Dreams Come True" and cut out 12 tiara's. The kid's will decorate them and then have them fitted to their little heads!
Here's what I did in case you want to try it yourself!
  • Dreams Come True cartridge
  • FIT TO PAGE (12x12) pg 40 ICON arlerc2(this cuts the crown at 7")
  • You'll be left with enough paper to cut 2 strips of 2x12 - this is what goes around the child's head
  • AUTO FIT (12x12) pg 40 SHIFT ICON arlerc2(set your size at 6" for this one - this cuts the piece for the front of the crown - you'll get 2 per page, but if you reload your pg, you can actually get 3)

Now you need to make sure you have velcro tabs which you can get at the dollar store and then let the kid's decorate away! Once their crown is dry, place it on their heads to get an idea where to add your velcro and you're done! You'll have a bunch of little princes and princesses running around!!

I'll get my sister to send me some pics of the finished products to post over the wknd, so stay tuned!!

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things...

Hello!! My little niece will turn 4 this Saturday and I wanted to do something special for her. Something she could treasure always. So, I went hunting through my stash and remembered I had bought a memory keeper box from CTMH awhile ago. So, I then went hunting online for idea's and I came across a few challenges, so I tried to incorporate them all into this one little box, for a very special little girl. This box will actually hold a 9x9 album as well. It's a nice size and the front flap is magnetic as well!

Some Winter Photo's

I just thought these would be fun to share and to show some of my friends who don't get snow, what we do here when the lake freezes! I'm honestly not a big fan of any frozen body of water, but Keith and the kid's talked me into heading out there. A little rough walking till you get out there, but Ashleigh and Riley loved it. We let Riley run and he certainly did just that! Was tired when we got home. It's looking more and more like a little village out there. I don't know how this above 0*C temp will affect it, but I guess we'll see!! Enjoy!

Our New Addition, Play Along Monday & Just Buggin' Challenge!

Good morning! Ok, almost afternoon! LOL! I've been a little busy and wanted to get on here today and get my post for Play Along Monday, Just Buggin' and share some news. We have a new addition to our family (yes, call me CRAZY!!). Meet Buddy! He's a 12 week old bullweiller (mom's a bulldog, dad's a rottie). He's the same breed as Riley, just opposite parents and he doesn't look like he'll be as big (thank God). I figured I was fighting a losing battle with Keith and the kid's as they all wanted a playmate for Riley and they've been on a mission for a while. Keith grew up on alot of property and they always had 2 med-lg size dogs, so I knew it was inevitable. The first day was a little tough, but Riley was all over the puppy with kisses when he came through the door, so we knew we would be ok. As you can see, they are best friends already. Riley is 14 mths, so they're only 11 mths apart. They love to wrestle and play and we've noticed Riley's energy level is lower because he now has someone to play with while the kid's are in school. He's loving it!! Buddy is already trained and I've taught him to sit and we've almost got him giving a paw as well. Quite a smart little guy, just like Riley.
This layout is for 2 challenges this week:

For my Just Buggin' challenge, I used my Graphically Speaking cartridge and I just cut the title in half to make it work.

So, I hope you can 'Play Along' with my challenge this week, I'd love to see some layouts and get some inspiration for myself!! Be sure to link a direct link in Mister Linky so we can all come visit! Thanks for playing along!
